Best Restaurants with Great Beer in Penn Quarter

As always a wonderful dinner with fantastic service from Kendal. We could not have been happier! The food and cocktails were great.

The perfect place to have a holiday lunch while touring DC with out of town friends. The kids loved seeing the decor and hearing about the stars. The staff was friendly and professional.

Great food for game day! Lots of TV’s. Drinks were excellent! Love our waitress! She was the best we had in all of DC!

We have been going to Ella's since it opened several years ago. The food is always well prepared, delicious and served quickly by very lovely servers. We especially like the beet and orange salad and the Di Mare pizza which is made with pesto and shrimp. It's also conveniently located across the street from the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery/American Art Museum. We love Ella's!

The City Tap House - Penn Quarter was PACKED so I'm glad we were able to get reservations. The food was excellent, but conversation at the dinner table was difficult because it was very noisy. We had a few issues with ordering via the QR code. When I ordered my food, the site returned an error. When I resubmitted my order, I had two orders. I was able to flag down someone who had to go to the kitchen to cancel my duplicate order. Then I had a third food order waiting to be submitted, so I had to flag someone down again to delete it from my order. The online system could use some improvements, but overall it was a good experience. The food and drinks came out quickly and I found I actually liked ordering and paying from my phone. The link to Apple Pay made it a SNAP! That being said, I received a phishing email overnight that my Apple Pay had been suspended. I deleted that, but it makes me wonder about the security of the online system.
