Best Restaurants for Afternoon Tea in Heights / Washington

One of the best tea service offerings in Houston, with generous portions that will have you ready for a second pot of tea before you’re done! After trying some of Houston’s higher-end tea spots, I can confidently say the food here is top-notch. That said, the service was lacking—we waited over 10 minutes to see a waiter and rarely saw them afterward for refills or check-ins. I understand it’s the holidays and servers are stretched thin, but the restaurant wasn’t full, which made the delays more noticeable. With more attentive service, this place could easily blow others out of the water. The space could also use some sun shading for comfort during the day. The espresso martini has great flavor but could benefit from a better shake for a proper cream top. Lastly, the parking situation is confusing and nearly non-existent—a heads-up about the limited parking in the rear would be helpful.

We celebrated my Mothers 84th Birthday today at Bistro Menil and high tea. It was perfect as always. Alex was our attentive server and was friendly and attentive. Tea was wonderful. We had our office Christmas lunch at Kirin’s. The majority never had Indian food before. Our server explained the menu perfectly and made great suggestions. The food was delicious and service was excellant.

We went to the Marigold club for afternoon tea and all I can say is outstanding. The first thing you see is how beautifully decorated it is and we were seated at a lovely table for two. The wait staff is very attentive. The sandwiches and scones or something I’ve never had and all were very tasty. The toffee scone is simply delicious and is followed by a dish of beautifully decorated little desserts. The tea is different from any tea I’ve ever had in Houston. We will be coming back here for other meals they do have a dinner menu, which we didn’t see but I’m sure it’s just as delicious as everything else. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

We have enjoyed the ambience. We had an outstanding pasta off the menu, which reminded me of the time spent in italy in portofino. Chef introduced himself and made a special dish for us . Loved the food. We will be back
