Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor.     We had a fabulous meal here on Christmas Eve. The special menu was exceptional and we totally enjoyed both of our meals. The server, Aleah (sp?) was great and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Looking forward to returning!

    As always, this restaurant was excellent. The food was hot and tasty. The wait staff and the gauchos are very friendly and welcoming. We always enjoy our meals when we eat here. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anything from a fancy get together or just in the mood to get your fill of the never ending meats.

    Wonderful place to celebrate a reunion of college friends meeting up after 60 years! Crab cake is delicious and the carrot cake and angel food cake live up to their description. Thanks for a memorable meal!

    My friend and I had the three branches dinner . It was so delicious! Preceded by a glass of champagne. The host told us the story of the restaurant and the property. The server was excellent. We were stuffed so had no room for dessert. The chef was kind enough to wrap it to go. Worth the trip from Ohiopyle!
