Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in Central Saanich

Our party of 4 had a great evening of great food drinks and service I recommend the Story cafe It was our first time there and all of us said we would be coming back.

We had a great birthday dinner at Wildlight: the restaurant was busy at 7:15, when we came, but we got a nice patio table marked with Birthday card from Wildlight, enjoyed our food (delicious dishes and impressive presentation) and cocktails, and had a really cool Riverside Rock cake for dessert from Wildlight. Our server was amazing - she went above and beyond to make our celebration special. We keep coming back to Wildlight for our special dates - great atmosphere, amazing food, and excellent service ❤️👍

This is a great restaurant to visit for a nice view of the river, friendly service (unrushed) and good food. The prices are sneaking up a bit ($50 for two of us with coffee) but not out of line with most restaurants these days. Highly recommended.

Don’t order the steak! We ordered it medium rare and it was served well done. I’ve had better steaks at Denny’s! We were never offered if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Besides that, the service was very friendly and welcoming. There are beautiful views, but the prices do not match up with the quality of the food. I ordered the steamers and the clams and mussels were very chewy and overcooked. If only their food was as good as their positive atmosphere!

We enjoyed the cozy ambiance of this place. Had Caesar salad, the Cacio E Pepe and the pasta with fennel sausage, peas, pecorino. All were excellent and highly recommended. We had also ordered a white wine that we did not taste before it was poured. It did not taste right and the server offered to get us something else. No issue at all! We really appreciated that.
