- MmarciSan Francisco Bay Area •11 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoOur daughter was in town and looking forward to dinner at her favorite restaurant and Insalatas once again knocked it out of the park! Every dish was a winner, service was outstanding, and the atmosphere as always, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed a favorite appetizer, the Lamb Kefta with it's rich, saucy spices, and tried a new appetizer of roasted trumpet mushrooms and broccolini ~ flavor filled and perfectly roasted, now another new favorite! Oh, and I must mention the Browned Butter Old Fashioned cocktail that one in our party ordered, though not much of a bourbon lover myself, I tried a taste and it was beautifully balanced and delicious! When we discovered the four of us all wanted the same two mains, our server had the kitchen divide two orders of each into four plates and brought them out in courses which was a wonderful way to enjoy our meal. The egg yolk fettuccine with dungeness crab, smokey bacon, sea urchin butter, castelvetrano olives, capers, basil, calabrian chili, and the most delicious crunchy garlic breadcrumbs was outstanding ~ melt in your mouth with a little kick! We followed this with the aromatic and complex flavors of the oven roasted salmon tagine ~ salmon was perfectly prepared with a delicious, crunchy skin on top and resting in a bed of coconut broth, chickpeas, mushrooms, lentils and wonderful spices. Thankfully we did not resist dessert and shared the Baklava cheesecake ~ nutty, buttery, creamy deliciousness ~ over the years I've found that anything with the word baklava in it at Insalatas should not be missed! Equally outstanding, the Sticky Toffee pudding was caramel, nutty perfection accompanied by creamy hazelnut gelato. Insalatas Team ~ Thank you one and all for a most enjoyable and memorable evening!More infoInsalata'sPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• San Anselmo•4.7

Our waiter, Stephen, was excellent. The food was very good as was the wine. We will be back soon.More infoIl Fornaio - Corte MaderaPrice: Expensive• Italian• Corte Madera•4.4
