It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Fantastic friendly vibe, the quality of purveying every item on the menu is consistently a 10. . The recipes are genuinely original and the selection of different meats, fish,pastas, salads and brick oven pizza are endless. I’ve been eating at DaNicola from day one and it NEVER disappoints my family and friends for any occasion. It’s a NYC experience at half the price of any 5 star restaurant!! Nicky the owner/chef of the restaurant loves satisfying his loyal customers with his home cooking!! Kudos to Marci, Donna and Stavros for their service.

Christmas Eve was a bit hectic but everything was very good. Stuffed pork chop on the specials menu was sensational, and the blackened shrimp were perfect. The portions were very generous. My only advice would be to turn down the music abit since it was hard to have conversations with my table mates.

Everything from the baked clams, fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms to the halibut, chicken sorrentino and rigatoni with mushrooms was delicious. Desserts were overrated and quite expensive for what they were. $15 for a slice of Italian cheesecake, really? Server was excellent!
