We wanted to stay but our friends had reservations for us at another place - and that place was not great. So on our next visit we wanted to try this place. Derek our server was super nice and knowledgeable. I asked for his recommendations as I had been on a streak of not asking and ordering something I was disappointed in. We started with his recommendation of crudo and it was fantastic. I normal order an app that is way too big and ruin my main meal. Then I got the Hake and my wife got the salmon. We got a side of shoestrings. All were excellent. If I’m being a Chopped judge I think a touch of acid would have made the Hake other worldly. Super lively great service - place was PACKED. Highly recommendedMore infoRow 34 - PortsmouthPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Portsmouth•4.7

The atmosphere initially struck the perfect balance—comfortable and inviting for a special dining experience. Our waiter, Michael, was truly an experienced professional. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, embodying the type of service that elevates a meal from good to exceptional. Michael ensured everything was timed perfectly, from appetizers to dessert, and his expertise was evident throughout the evening. The food, as always, was impeccable—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Every dish met the high expectations we’ve come to associate with Abe & Louie’s, making it a truly memorable meal. However, during the second hour of our meal, the experience was marred by noise. Several parties spilled over from the bar into the dining space, creating an overly loud and chaotic environment that detracted from the otherwise refined atmosphere. It was unfortunate and something that could have been better managed by the restaurant. Overall, it was still a very good experience, thanks largely to Michael and the exceptional food. However, the noise issue highlights an area for improvement to ensure that the dining room ambiance remains as polished as the cuisine and service.More infoAbe & Louie’s - BostonPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Back Bay•4.7

My husband had a steak, also amazing. My daughter and son were able to slit the heritage chicken and it was plenty. Sides are shareable. My husband’s brown sugar old fashioned was Pinterest worthy. I had an espresso martini x 2 with amazing taste and a frosted glass which kept it cold for the little time that it lasted. Ambiance is elegant. They were well decorated for Christmas. Coat check was a nice surprise. The service was impeccable. We will return.More infoGrill 23 & BarPrice: Very Expensive• Steak• Back Bay•4.8
