Best Hot Spot Restaurants in Herne Hill

Always an amazing experience - just a very beautiful setting to enjoy amazing food with the stunning St Paul's lit up creating a truly iconic setting! Service was attentive and theatrical, without being over the top. Only question was on leaving, I was shown out the back way into the shopping centre rather than the impressive front lobby which was odd?

We ate at Hawksmoor Air Street before the theatre. The staff were great from the moment I arrived. Very welcoming and approachable. We told our server that we needed to be out by 7pm and they did their best to keep our dishes coming quickly. The set menu is lovely - almost all of us opted for the rump steak and the potted beef to start. Nothing was left on the plates it was that good! Steaks cooked to perfection, unctuous sauces and those chips! It was our friend's birthday and despite not having any room or time for dessert, he got a scoop of ice cream on a decorated plate with a candle for us to sing happy birthday! Much appreciated. Always a great experience.

Fantastic food - relatively limited menu but prepared extremely well. Where do you see chops these days? Open late so perfect for post theatre dining and with the most helpful and friendly staff you'll encounter anywhere. Not the cheapest place to eat but still good value for the overall experience.

Ordered the scotch egg but it wasn’t runny as it should have been, Sunday roast beef was lovely although I did think a little pricey and only one carrot! Not enough veg or had to order as a side , I think when you’re paying £38 for a roast you could give more than one carrot. It was very nice and I thought where we sat was lovely over looking the market , however I did find this part of the restaurant very dark of we hadn’t have been over looking the market it wouldn’t have been the best for me.

Always great service and I am now a fan of the Riding House Draught beer
