Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard.     I love the comfortable, cozy ambience at Clyde’s Willow Creek. So many places around this area are loud and crowded, but the spacing and furnishings in all the different rooms at Clyde’s make it a treat to relax and enjoy great food and service while spending quality time with friends and family.

    This was my first visit here and I chose it because of its gluten free options, which they had more than average. Everything we ordered was delicious. The fire shrimp appetizer, the lobster bisque, the lamb chops, the crab cakes, the potatoes au gratin, and the star, the flourless chocolate cake. I didn’t have high expectations but was pleasantly blown away and I can’t wait to come back here the next time I am in town. The service was a little spotty and slow but like I said, I’ll be back and can’t wait to try more gf items! What a gem in the middle of Fairfax!

    La Bonne Vie provided an absolutely superb Christmas Eve dinner program that took away all of the stress of the holiday season. The prix fixe menu was very thorough and provided many fine options for all tastes. The wine and cocktail lists were excellent. Having a special Christmas Eve dinner was a stroke of genius and the owners of La Bonne Vie are to be commended for thinking about the adults during Christmas time. One of the many fine parts of the dinner experience was the "quiet" in the restaurant. The joy of having a sumptuous meal with your loved one in a place with the proper ambiance cannot be overstated. We cannot wait for our next dinner at La Bonne Vie!

    As always service was excellent. Arugula salad very tasty. My lobster ravioli was very good but a bit rich for me. I should have chosen something else, but that is on me and not because the dish wasn't very good. Wife had the Festa di Mare. They did offer the Cleopatra but that is a lot of food (we have had before and will have again - but not tonight). Also excellent. Finished off with Tiramisu which is one of the best if not the best around.
