A typical food love story. A boy meets a girl while eating pizza. He attends culinary school and open’s a pizza restaurant named after the girl. Thus bringing us to Emily! The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). We went to Essex for Thanksgiving dinner and it was fantastic. It was relatively quiet and the staff were more than welcoming. They were so polite in taking the orders of a large group and were very patient with our two children. The holiday had a pre-fixe meal and we all got to try new takes on classic Thanksgiving foods. It was delicious. The quality of food and the portion size for the price was great. Thank you all!

We had such a beautiful evening at Frances Tavern!! I highly recommend this cool restaurant. Upstairs is a museum with so much to see and learn. The history of this building is incredible!! The atmosphere is just amazing, really warm and inviting. The entire staff were really friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious!!!! If you are visiting or live in NYC I highly recommend this tavern.

Our server Kelly was the best! Friendly and attentive without being overly being so. She went above and beyond when they comped a dessert AND added a free one because it came out late. The ambiance was great. Food was good but the overall experience was capped by her welcome attention to detail and genuine friendliness. Thanks and will definitely be back in the future here! The fish branzini and steak was perfect! Thanks for making our small reunion memorable.

outstanding experience! we have been coming to Emily WV since it opened. While the food has alwys been stellar, service has steadily declined…until this visit. Our server was outstanding and made our evening very enjoyable.
