Best Historic Restaurants in Lombard

My wife and I enjoy eating at Sullivan's a few times a year. We celebrated our anniversary tonight. Our waiter was quite nice in that he began by immediately wishing us a happy anniversary and telling us we would be getting a complimentary dessert. I tried the jumbo crab cakes for my entree, which I hadn't ever had here in previous visits. They were large and tasty. My wife had a holiday menu special called the filet duo, which she also really enjoyed. While pricey, you know what to expect coming in and the food is well worth the price. We will be back soon.

Lovely space, was still decorated for holidays when we went just after Christmas. Lovely sparkling Christmas Tree lights at each table. Love the backlit wine list and menu make them easy to read in this somewhat dark restaurant. Ribs are fantastic and makes it hard to try something new but two in our party had the salmon and pork chop—both quite good. Owner Dick always stops by to welcome you. Service was good. It was louder than normal with a completely full house during the holidays but normally noise is not bad. Great place, cozy feel.

We had a very nice evening at Suzettes. I made a last-minute reservation , and I'm glad I did. Duke was our server, and he was very attentive and nice. We shared the fondue, and it was very good. I had the quiche of the day, ham and asparagus; and my husband had the soup . We also shared the fresh berry crepe for dessert. It was quite a nice evening. We will be back!

We have been going to The Chew Chew for probably 10 years now. This visit was like most of the others - excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere. It's a great local gem!

Cranky waitress, but food was great. Interesting menu - some unique dishes too. I wish the tandoori items (kebab, chicken) could be obtained in smaller appetizer portions or a combo platter. s
