For our party of five, we indulged in an incredible array of dishes: - Pulpo Anticuchero - Anticuchos - Ceviche Tasting - Planchada a la Mar - Grilled Salmon - Chicharrón de Calamar - La Mar Pulpo - Tomahawk 40oz All paired perfectly with the refreshing Kola and Chicha Morada. This wasn’t the first visit for some of us, but once again, La Mar exceeded expectations. The speed and quality of service were remarkable, making the experience seamless and enjoyable. What truly sets La Mar apart is its ability to combine bold, authentic flavors with a modern touch, creating a dining experience that’s both comforting and memorable. From the tender, flavorful seafood to the perfectly grilled Tomahawk steak, every dish was a masterpiece. Expensive but really great restaurant. Enter to a huge , chic, family style restaurant. Table for 20, table for two, open kitchen and lamb roasting on the flame. Chic but not intimidating. Warm and cozy. You will enter another universe, close to downtown SF. Food is really great, instantly making you travel in the Mediterranean sea. The food is simple but it’s working really well.

So sorry I do not remember our server’s name, because he provided amazing service. In fact, all the staff we interacted with were amazing. The food was more than delicious, it was mouthwatering. View of the bay is spectacular! Oh yes, he asked if we were celebrating any special occasion. We were out celebrating a birthday and anniversary. He surprised us with two tasty brownie bites. Trust me, dine here and you will not be disappointed.

Our Thanksgiving 2024 dinner was outstanding from beginning to end. Bread and little nibbles (olives, roasted pecans) were followed by a shot glass of truffled celery root and cauliflower soup and a copious salad featuring persimmons, fennel, endive and walnuts. For mains, we got a choice between turkey plus trimmings, grilled salmon and mushroom-stuffed squash. We chose the turkey and were glad – a generous serving of sliced bird with yummy gravy, buttery mashed potatoes, sweet potato rounds, wild rice stuffing, blue lake green beans and cranberry-orange-ginger relish. Everything was excellent and copious enough to take home the makings of another meal. Our dessert was a double chocolate bavarian cake with caramel sauce – superb. A couple of glasses of good wines and coffee rounded out a marvelous meal.

Our waitress was outstanding and the food quality superb. It was noisy, but understandably the night before Thanksgiving.
