At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden. Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. A great restaurant opposite the Theatre Royal in Glasgow. Evidently very popular, we had a lunch reservation and people were being turned away, even the bar area was full. We arrived a little early to meet friends and sat at the bar for a pre-lunch cocktail which were great. There was a seasonal lunch menu and a la carte, and spoiled for choice on both; lots of regional dishes and locally-sourced meat, fish and produce. A good selection of wines by the glass and of course a nice whisky list. We had a great time, and would go back in a heartbeat.

This was my first time at Kelp. We had a reservation and were running a bit late so I phoned the restaurant and they helped us find a more suitable time. Once we arrived, the waiter was very attentive and cheery. We ordered from the market menu and it did not disappoint! I loved the evening and will definitely be back!
