We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca.     Ana our waitress was extremely kind and helpful with any requests and pleasant to talk to. The food was very nice, tea great... my sons fish and chips "great" he said.... All in all happy to recommend anyone to spend their time and money on visiting while in London ... or when living in London as a treat!

    Everything about the experience was great, from our hostess to our waiter. Food was all outstanding, and for the quality of it, the value was insane! This was recommended by a friend and I would pay that forward for anyone else visiting London and looking to enjoy a beautiful meal in an inviting setting that feels comfortable and relaxed.

    Another lovely lunch at Smiths. Food delicious, staff great and friendly so as expected. Went on 23rd December not as busy or noisy as Friday 6th evening. Had the set menu which is always lovely and good value and had a great table.

    We were group of 5, and had booked this place for dinner post electric shuffle and food was really outstanding. Such great flavours, the flavours in their tabbouli was just hands down best I had eaten ever ( despite it wasn’t authentic base of tabbouli using wheat but was made using brown rice & quinoa) and hummus was so nice and creamy. We had ordered almost everything that was vegetarian on menu- Za’atar flatbtead, hummus, fatteh pita chips, baked halloumi, sesame coated falafel, truffle patatas, tabbouleh grain chilli salad, flame baked cauliflower. Staff was really cordial, courteous & patient. I really wish & hope they open one more branch somewhere in central London or around liverpool street. I absolutely loved it & would highly recommend if you are out & about in canary wharf & want to eat mediterranean (lebanese) food.
