The Brigantine is more than just home to some of San Diego’s finest seafood. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike come to share a lively atmosphere and authentic sense of community. The Morton family opened the first Brigantine on Shelter Island in 1969, with a vision that embraced the beach town lifestyle, a dedication to flavorful food, and a passion for friendly service. Today, we’re known far and wide for our San Diego-style surf and turf. From our award-winning fish tacos and freshly shucked oysters, to classic filet mignon or our perpetually best-selling marinated grilled swordfish. Always prepared to exceed expectations, and served with a smile. You can stop in at any neighborhood Brigantine and get a taste of the local flavor, from regionally inspired specials, to custom cocktails and home town craft beers. At the Brigantine we make first timers feel like regulars, and consider regulars part of the family. So come by often, and share our taste for life.

Service, food, ambiance, and bay view were all wonderful. It’s always a coin toss when I order a steak well done but this one came out very juicy and I swear could have been cut with a butter knife. Thank you chef.

I was disappointed in that I indicated on my reservation note we were celebrating a birthday. I noticed at least one other patron received a nice birthday card from Roy's. I don't know the specifics on how their reservation was made, but we didn't get one. I thought the information we placed in notes for our open table reservation was read by the restaurant staff, this seems to indicate maybe they don't pay attention. A little disappointing if true

This was a great location to watch the boat parade. Unfortunately, we had reservations and they wouldn’t let us get seated until all of our party showed up, later on they told us that they don’t usually do that when you have reservations so that was unfortunate The food is marginal, but again this was a great place to watch the boat parade.

We made last minute reservation and enjoyed a quiet lunch. We have always like going to Fred’s as it is a festival environment and fun to be there and hear the music and laughter of others. This time it was quiet due to it being a Monday afternoon and not much going on in the area. The food was very tasty and service great. And it was pleasant and relaxful to enjoy lunch in the unusual quiet environment . DJ
