The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor.     This was our first time visiting and will not be our last. Brad B was our server and was excellent! He seemed genuine and willing to help, he provided us recommendations for dinner and dessert and gave us tips how to best enjoy the lemon tart and described how their tiramisu and limoncello are different. He made the experience 10/10. We had ricotta toast, artichokes, spaghetti, ravioli, lemon tart and tiramisu.

    We had a FANTASTIC dinner at Major Tom. Best service I have ever experienced!!! I have a dairy allergy and the waiter made notes on the menu to show what I could order as is or modified - and there were lots of options. All the staff (and especially our main waiter) were so friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive - while also giving us our space and not making us feel rushed. The view of the city is incredible! There are many delicious cocktail and mocktail options and appetizers. The food was INCREDIBLE! So so so delicious and very high quality. The filet minion was so tender and flavourful. Our waiter also brought us the most incredible vegan chocolate dessert at the end. If you want to spoil yourself or a loved one, go to Major Tom's - you won't be disappointed!
