Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Toronto / Ontario

We booked this restaurant for my mums birthday and we were very impressed with the beautiful interior design of the restaurant, but the hostess took us further back to there conservatory room and we felt like we were in a winter wonderland of beautiful lit white leafy trees. It was truly a great ambience. Our personal hostess Tonya took very good care of us as she was super friendly and explained the dishes if we were uncertain, I was impressed with after each meal they cleared up wiped the table clean and placed our next upcoming entree with new cutlery. Very neat and clean service. Overall we had a wonderful experience of great fresh Italian food.

I celebrated my birthday at the Old Mill on December 28th. Their new winter menu is delicious! My husband and I shared the Charcuterie board first, followed my Prime Rib for myself and Dennis had the salmon. Both entrees were cooked perfectly. We were lucky enough to have Karen again as our server who is so lovely, friendly and what a great sense of humour! Thank you Karen for making my birthday so special- I was so surprised with the lovely birthday dessert-that made the evening! It was Disco Night with Jay Vasquez and Groove Marmalade-our favourite band at the Old Mill. Danced the night away! So thank you to Karen and all of the wonderful restaurant staff who work so hard. It was nice to see Irene the CFO when we checked in. I love the Old Mill -we were there just 4 days ago for the Christmas Eve Buffet which is outstanding and we try to come for as many Dining and Dancing Nights as possible. Steaks, chicken and fish were delicious. Server and kitchen manager were great with accommodating nut allergies in the family. Service was great throughout. 5/5 experience for this group of 4!

We had a delicious dinner with extended family celebrating Christmas. Our table was ready as booked. Our waiter was very pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable about explaining changes on the menu. We did not feel rushed and we were able to enjoy our time catching up with family news. This location is a very convenient meeting spot, midway between our homes (north of Barrie and Niagara area). The only negative would be the parking, but typical for Toronto area. We were waiting for one spot to come available, to back into, and another car slipped in ahead of us.

This was a return visit to Joey Sherway Gardens. I made reservations for 5:45, and seated right on time. I highly recommend reservations as this is a super popular spot. The restaurant was busy, but it didn’t feel rushed or pushed. The staff took the time to be friendly, answer questions, talk about the food, and gave us the time that we needed to do our ordering. Super great staff super attentive! I’ll be going back.
