They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years. Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Old Ebbitt Grill is always solid. Service is usually solid (as compared to most DC proper restaurants) and the food is always great. Their raw bar is incredible (be sure to visit during oyster HH, everyday 3pm-6pm), the mix drinks are always tasty, and their menu/selection is always rotating and improving. Their management is clearly receptive to metrics and I appreciate this restaurant.

My wife and I loved our visit to Zaytinya in DC! If you’re in downtown, you’ve got to check it out. They specialize in Greek, Lebanese, and Turkish food, and everything is meant to be shared, which makes it even more fun. The flavors were amazing, and the vibe was relaxed but still classy. Definitely try their mezze dishes—they’re so good!
