Essence is a casual restaurant that serves French cuisine using seasonal ingredients. Chef Shiro Naito opened the restaurant in 2010 to provide dishes that celebrate the essence of each season. Essence is conveniently located next to Inokashira Park and Ghibli Museum. Its spacious dining area provides tables for guests and a private room for special occasions. The menu at Essence offers themed seasonal courses. We visited Sougo on our first night in Tokyo. We had heard it was excellent, and it truly surpassed all our expectations. The ambience, the quality and favor profile of the food, the drinks, the attention to every small detail, the service, the extremely welcoming staff and chef: everything was perfection. The value for money for the quality you get is amazing! We will definitely be back. I would highly recommend dining there while in Tokyo!

I liked this restaurant. Food was good. I just wish that OpenTable added 14th Flr to the location. We got to the restaurant around 25 mins late since we were going around in circles following google map directions and still not finding the restaurant. It is on the 14th Floor of the Odakyu Department Store. There are no signs anywhere about the restaurant. We finally went to the restaurant review on Google and patiently read each one of them. Luckily a reviewer posted that it's on the 14th Floor. Pls OpenTable, update the address info for this restaurant.
