Since the middle ages the elegant porticos of Bologna, Italy have a meeting place for the public as well as a place for business. Paolo Pedrinazzi (who is from Bologna) and Kat Escamilla, owners of the new Portico trattoria , bring this experience to Sebastopol. They even have monthly Regional dinner parties with live jazz.The setting includes an Italian fountain on their cozy patio. Portico offers light table service and counter ordering. Excellent Italian wines are sold in the restaurant at retail pricing; refreshingly unpretentious.     What a lovely eclectic place! The vibe of the restaurant is so cool and funky! It's a really awesome environment. We LOVED the food. Everything we had was so flavorful and unique . So many beautiful flavors. They have a huge cocktail menu but also offer a TON of non alcoholic drinks that taste so good! Our service was perfect as well. Attentive without being overwhelming.This place is a must try in sonoma county . And try the numb nums! The flavor is addictive!

    La Gare is a wonderful choice for dinner out with friends. The menu is tried and true and the “specials” are always worthy. The wine list is certainly representative of a community that prides itself on world class wines. Perhaps best of all is the service—always attentive but never obtrusive.

    This was my mother in laws third time eating at Portico on this visit! She absolutely loves it (and so do we!). Last night we had Burrata to start and a beer chèvre salad. They comped us some extra bread and olive oil/balsamic for dipping and we didn’t even ask. (grandma is now a frequent flyer so that may help lol!). Entrees were outstanding as my daughter and I split a Margueritta pizza and vegetarian Lasagna. My wife got the eggplant parmigiana and split that with her mom along with gnocchis which are to die for. My other daughter got vegetable risotto and her boyfriend was with us and he got the cream and saffron with pannicetta (he’s the only meat eater among us). What a great meal and we will definitely be back!

    The Christmas Eve special event dinner was very good. The food was creative and they were very helpful dealing with a dairy intolerance issue. It was a it pricey, but worth it.
