Best Romantic Restaurants in Kaupulehu

We have been coming here for around 20 years and Sansei still has good food . Really did not notice much difference. In fact the food seem to have come faster. Still going to be one of our go to restaurants on the big island.

I was really hoping to love this restaurant. It was nearly impossible to make a reservation, and I gladly took the only available spot. When we arrived, the restaurant was half-empty at 7:30 p.m. [It was already dark, so for those willing to pay $$$$ for the view, it’s pitch black at this hour]. We waited at our table for over 20 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge us. Not what you’d expect at this caliber restaurant. The waiter was really nice, but I am not sure why at these prices (e.g., $97 for a 7.0 oz fillet mignon) they were short-staffed. They also ran out of bread by the time we started placing our order. The food was good though nothing special w relatively small portions. If the sunset / ocean view is what you’re after, this is a great spot or … try lava lava right down the street.

The venue is outstanding. Right on the coast line. You have to experience the sunset. Valet parking for those not staying at the 4 seasons at no cost if you are dining. Food was excellent. Drinks a bit over priced. Hospitality was great.

Good but not great. Not among the best sushi I have had.
