In fact, one of my most prized mementos is my mother's... her cooking manual from Naparima Girls High School in Trinidad. What started as my mother's inspiration many years ago has turned into a career that I love and am very proud of. The first in his family to be born here, his parents and siblings came to Philadelphia as refugees in 1985 after surviving the war in Cambodia.Mawn, which means “chicken” in Khmer, the Cambodian language, represents more than one thing. To Phila, chicken was at every meal growing up, and to his parents, chicken represented peacetime. First time here. We did Brunch to check out the look of restaurant. We heard good things about food but wanted to see for ourselves before we invited others to be our guests. We were not disappointed the food was really good and my wife described interior as cute. Will definitely be back for dinner. We will bring others with us.

What a great meal and experience! We can’t wait to go back and try more menu items. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make choices based on our tastes. I ordered the eggplant vegetarian entree and loved it. It was a busy Saturday so the staff was spread a tad thin but overall it was great!

Pure dining experience at Sano by Michael Scipione!! Each dish was exquisitely done. Had the citrus scallops with pumpkin puree as appetizer. It was pure heaven. Hubby had veal meatball which was so moist & beyond delicious!! All our selections were outstanding….5 stars for sure!! Ebony was hands down the best waitress ever!! Michael is welcoming & personal. Atmosphere was moody & sophisticated. Definitely going back soon!!!
