- JjaneLos Angeles •20 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe entire dining experience was one of the best I've had in a long time, and I eat at very wonderful places. Ample parking, cozy atmosphere. The house white wine that evening was a new choice and it was very smooth. The Ceasar Salad was perfect, the eggplant in the harissa sauce just blended in my mouth, but the best of show was definitely the bass special. crispy, perfectly cooked, sauce just light enough but still flavorful, and the wonderful touch of the gnocchi was unique and I enjoyed how they just melted in my mouth. BUT, I am definitely a DESSERT lover and when I saw there was Sticky Toffee Pudding on the menu I probably might just have had the wonderful looking fries to save room for this dessert. It was perfect, steamy warm, with a scoop of vanilla, topped with drizzles of toffee sauce. Hmmm...More infoLunettaPrice: Moderate• Californian• Santa Monica•4.7

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We were celebrating my daughters 20th birthday and they brought us delicious desserts. I think I would be happy if I could eat here every night, thank you Tar and Roses for another wonderful eveningMore infoTar & RosesPrice: Expensive• American• Santa Monica•4.9

We had a large table of 10 people and one person canceled - they had no issue with this and didn't require a deposit, but they did include a service charge which was totally sensible. A bit dark in the covered patio area, so you may need your phones to read the menus, but otherwise very lovely, large, airy setting and nicely heated. We had an early reservation, so it wasn't as noisy/bustling as I've seen it before. They were out of a couple of things on the drink menu - maybe not as stocked up due to the less busy holiday weekend? We had the seafood tower, multiple starters and sides, in addition to a variety of their mains and everything had really balanced flavors and textures. I even really enjoyed the lamb and I'm normally not that into lamb. Highly recommend for a large group for dinner. They do have a dessert menu that looked interesting but we did not try it (my favorite Wanderlust ice cream shop is nearby so we did that instead). Wait staff was very patient despite some of our indecisive guests, lol. Everyone was able to find street parking close by (but it was an early dinner on a holiday weekend).More infoThe Rose VenicePrice: Expensive• American• Venice•4.5
- NNaomivipLos Angeles •79 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe ate lunch at the Penthouse on Thanksgiving day. The restaurant was fully staffed and the service was very attentive. The prix fixe meal was delightful from starters, to entrees, and to desserts, with a platter of traditional side dishes as well. There were excellent choices for the vegetarians, and a spectacular view of the coast from the 16th floor. Of special note were the butternut squash soup, the pumpkin ravioli, the maitaki mushrooms, and the salted caramel cheesecake, each adorned with creative and scrumptious embellishments. We were grateful for this beautiful meal.More infoThe Penthouse RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Santa Monica•4.6
