Best Restaurants with a Vibrant Bar Scene in Little Italy / University Village

nice venue, but different than my expectations (I imagined a large, visible open flame pit or something to that effect after visiting their website). Anyway, the service was really good overall, although there wasn't a ton of explanation, other than the large format seafood app and the 42oz Wagyu steak choices (maybe those are what they're trying to sell mostly?). The seafood platter w/ fries is pretty good, but if there is a next time, I'd just get the baked oysters and prawns with a side of fries. The lobster was pretty undercooked at the thick parts (almost raw) and the scallops were very underwhelming and basically gets "lost" in the sauce. The sauce itself is delicious and worthy of mopping up w/ an order of their bread. The bone in ribeye was very good, not overly salted and cooked to the right temperature. Side of broccolini was very good with a generous portion size. Bourbon old fashioned was very standard and "right on" without being overly sweet. Overall, a good experience and I can say I've tried it.

West Loop is a culinary gem that truly stands out in Chicago's vibrant dining scene. I recently visited this lively spot and was thoroughly impressed by both the food and the atmosphere. The highlight of my meal was the truffle pizza. It was an absolute delight! The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and beautifully soft on the inside. The generous amount of truffle, combined with the creamy cheese and aromatic toppings, created a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. Each bite was a luxurious experience that left me craving more. The ambiance at Bar Siena is equally impressive. The restaurant boasts a chic and modern design with a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or celebrate a special occasion. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Overall, Bar Siena in West Loop exceeded my expectations in every way. The truffle pizza alone is worth a visit, but the entire dining experience makes it a must-try destination in Chicago. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed dining at girl & the goat. Their menu selections were spectacular, and they were able to accommodate those with dairy intolerance (which most restaurants are unable to do). Their food selections were great and flavorful, and their staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend the chicken or steak dishes.

Lex our server was fabulous from start to finish! He explained the starters and entrees beautifully. We got the braised short ribs which were flavorful and tender just as described. It was our first time, from the host warmly greeting us while they gave the kids a stuffie each. The girls ordered from the kids menu which gave them a beautiful mug to take home! The fairy that went our granting wishes was truly magical! And to top it all off they took complimentary family photo to remember the outing. Definitely will be back and start a new family Christmas tradition! Thank you again Lex and staff for making it a very special and memorable evening!

everything from the bar to the dinning area's is old school and perfect. the only bad thing is the restrooms are upstairs, reason to burn some calories after such an amazing meal!!!
