Best Restaurants with Good Vegetarian Options in Ashtead

I came across this restaurant by accident… my husband thought I should have a break from cooking Christmas dinner having done it for 48 years.. Family of six and a dog looking for a nice restaurant other than traditional Christmas fare.. And boy did we find this amazing place. I would say in my humble opinion that this is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The menu is small but the flavour is spectacular it’s not about throwing a handful of chillies and calling it a curry it’s about paring the right spices and herbs and making delicious dishes.. Roots definitely know how to do that.. each dish was so different, so fragrant and very tasty too. The tables are dressed beautifully, every detail is carefully chosen to make this amazing restaurant. And a real bonus to be able to take your dog there too..I will definitely recommend this place.. and I will definitely be going back.

Absolutely incredible evening at Smoke & Salt. The food was so delicious, each and every dish cooked perfect with so many gorgeous flavours. The service was so great as well, everyone was so accommodating and attentive throughout. Could not recommend enough and we will definitely be back again and again! Superb food, excellent service and good value for what it Indian food with a difference.

Great location, lovely table and generally a nice evening. Food was tasty but the portions were small. We asked for bread but it didn't come. We would have left hungry had we not ordered 2 cheese boards and pudding. While eating the front door kept opening of its own accord and we were blasted with cold air. We kept shutting the door but it continued all evening. After our meal we asked to stay for a final drink and the waiter said we could so long as the group in the function room were still eating/drinking. The waiter then changed his mind and told us we could no longer order a drink and he had told the function they we not allowed more wine. An abrupt end to our night and a shame. I don't normally leave a review but I feel I would want to know if I owned Mezzet Dar Tapas.
