Best Restaurants with a Fireplace in Virginia

We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. When we arrived at our table it was decorated with subdued birthday confetti. The service team was excellent and our needs were addressed before we even knew we needed something. The wine was excellent and the food was delicious. We started with the eggplant rotini. I had the scallops , my wife had Mediterranean chicken and her son had the veal Parmesan. All were prepared well and served hot. It was our first time there and we will be back!

We all had seafood choices - tuna tartare is always outstanding, cod perfectly prepared, salmon entree with crab also delicious. Server was Oliver, who was just the right amount of attentive. We really had an excellent evening. It was very busy but we never felt rushed and it wasn't noisy. Will be going back soon!

We enjoyed a great lunch to celebrate the Winter Solstice! Our server, Justin, was professional, attentive, and helpful. The environment was lovely; we were seated in the small dining room next to a lovely fire in the fireplace and with a great view of Carytown. The super-thin octopus and fried calamari appetizers were great starters. We moved on to phenomenal crab cakes (so much crab!) and fried oysters, both over a roasted corn salad. The oysters also featured a spicy aioli, and the crab cake was served over roasted sweet potatoes with a cilantro oil. We also had a Yellowtail carpaccio that was superb. Dessert was amazing: a perfectly balanced single malt butterscotch pudding with shortbread, a superb version of sticky toffee pudding, and delicious house-made donuts with lemon curd and fruits.

We had a bottle of sparkling Cremaint. It was incredible. Our server, Alex, was right there and recommended teas for us. It was an event for the Yoga Wine Club from Williamsburg. We will go again. Thank the VMFA for this tea room. It also was a history note being in the building for Confederate Women. Very interesting.

Oysters were a delicious start. Cocktails perfect. Entrees very tasty.
