The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year.     Unfortunately our food came out cold 2x (after sending it back to the kitchen). Was forced to then order something we didn’t necessarily want but needed to have something for dinner. The manager was nice and took the entrées off the bill, but would expect a higher level of service at a restaurant like this.

    I’m just going to start off by saying, I love this restaurant! I booked Sweet Waters as a Birthday Brunch do-over for my sister from a horrible dining experience at House 157. Sweet Waters more than made up for her birthday. Our waiter was excellent, knowledgeable with the specials and recommendations and he always returned to our table to check on us. The plating was delectable and the meals were beyond delicious. I even asked for an extra Berry Pancake and it was delivered without any hassle. My sister was very happy with her Birthday do-over and Pumpkin Cheesecake. I will ALWAYS recommend Sweet Waters Steak House! Thank you

    Beautiful historic restaurant ! We loved the fireplaces and dining room areas. There was also a great bar area with tables and a fireplace. Dinner was fresh and tasty. Service was prompt and good. We would dine here again if in the area.
