Best Sunday Lunch Restaurants in Doxford

Fabulous game tasting menu. The outstanding course for me was the first course of teal and scallop. I always love a perfectly cooked scallop but the teal I thought was exceptionally tasty. My husbands favourite was the delicious risotto milanese. HELP! How on earth do I recreate it for him at home to that standard?

We have a lovely meal at the jolly fisherman. This was our second visit and the food, service and overall experience was as good as our first visit. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Our second visit..we were here last month with friends for Sunday lunch and it was so good we came back with our family and we were not disappointed. Very good food and lovely pub

This is a traditional pub serving the community but also giving visitors a warm welcome. We’ve eaten here a number of times over the years when visiting the are but this was our first visit under the new ownership. Happily the standards have remained high and we had a delicious meal in a relaxed cosy setting and were well looked after by the staff. Our dog was really welcomed with dog treats and a bowl of water.

Everything from arriving for pre dinner drinks to the meal was absolutely superb. Bar area and restaurant are well furnished and immaculate. Staff are friendly without being overbearing. Simple, uncluttered tables, with a modern feel. The food was beautiful. We both had different starters, mains and desserts, and we couldn’t fault any of it. We did find it quite expensive, but the quality of the food was among the best we’ve had anywhere. It would be nice to see perhaps a set/fixed price menu for hotel guests, particularly mid week.
