As well as intimate and cosy meals for couples or small groups, we are also a noted venue for group bookings, including cocktail classes, birthdays, hen parties, and weddings - all of which may be combined with a two/three-course meal, buffet, or something more bespoke. Once a month we host the Oliver's bottomless brunch, with option to upgrade to bottomless cocktails.     Partner and I booked our valentines date night here. The customer service from the start was exceptional, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. We didn't wait long for our orders even though they were busy. The food was great though my salmon was a little undercooked but everything else was great. Good value for money and looking forward to another date night there.

    We went for Sunday lunch and had a lovely time. Cocktails are amazing, food was delicious, decor was great. The only downside was that the service was very slow and waiting staff not very attentive as in we sat with empty glasses for a long time and no-one came over to the table really except to take our order or serve the food. Also not enough gravy on the roast but that is a personal preference. Overall though loved The Hengist and would definitely go back!
