Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Georgetown

We are French living in the US for a little while and we’ve been looking forward to finding a real French restaurant serving authentic very good quality fresh food. La Chaumière did that for us ! Thank You :)

We had our Thanksgiving meal at Kingbird at the Watergate Hotel. The food was outstanding with some interesting, and very tasty, additions to the traditional holiday menu. The service as always attenttive and we never felt rushed. This was the best Thanksgiving meal in my memory! Nancy Hicks

It's been many years since I've been to the Tabard Inn, so long ago that I was living in Dupont on Riggs Place. It was low key and funky and much smaller. The present version is very different but equally enjoyable. Larger, still good food, but more space and fewer distractions. A great place to meet for breakfast and escape from the bustling of one of Washington's friendliest circles.

Three family members each enjoyed our entrees and split a salad and a dessert. We liked sitting in the comfortable booth and the service was very good. I especially liked the low noise level in the restaurant. All in all I’d recommend it for a very good meal in Georgetown DC.

Amazing steak, cooked perfectly. Scallops were great! Piano playing, great atmosphere. Valet was perfect and the speakeasy type bar downstairs where the bathrooms are was amazing. Will definitely come back here, great date night!!!
