- DDianeGreater Boston •21 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe went with friends specifically for the jazz brunch. It was exactly what we hoped for. The service was perfect, the atmosphere invigorating and we had great seats close to the musicians where we could see them but not diretly in front so we were able to hold down a conversation. For the most part, the food was excellent and we really apprciated being able to taste the sauce from the turkish egg dish before ordering. Our waitstaff was very attentive, makig sure not to put down another plate until we finished what we were currently eating - and it still came out warm! We're slow eaters so appreciate this. The only constructive comments are that the corned beef hash was a bit too cheesy overtaking the flavors, and the people in our party who ordered it also commented that they are accustomed to 2 eggs while this only had one. That is the only reason I could not give this a 5 star.More infoBeehivePrice: Expensive• American• South End•4.5
- AAlanvipGreater Boston •34 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoFirst course was exceptional - squash carpaccio. Second course was ok - veal milanese. Service was outstanding. Tables are VERY close together - zero privacy from neighbors. Decor is vibrant, warm, and rich with natural light. The tight spacing, noise level, and variable food quality eclipse the good parts of Contessa.More infoContessa - BostonPrice: Expensive• Italian• Back Bay•4.8
- MMichaelSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoSeriously one of the best meals we've had in Boston. This was a complete surprise, as it was a last minute reservation, made in the pouring rain, and let's grab a table at a place we have never been. Wow. The dover sole was amazing, as was the quiche (privately, I admitted to my beautiful wife that the fish was one of the best I've had, and we love to cook at home). Service was super attentive, everything done just right. There was some background noise from other diners enjoying themselves, but not too much that we were hard of hearing, in fact, made it all the more charming. This basement restaurant on Newbury St in Back Bay is hard to see, the first time we approached it, we walked right past, focused on avoiding sidewalk puddles rather than diligently looking for a French Bistro. No matter, a minute later we were whisked in, seated, water and wine poured and pouring over the menu. Recommend with hesitation, just go! - NNatalieGreater Boston •1 review5.0Dined on 8 Dec 2024Great experience! Everyone was super friendly and they were very accommodating of my food allergies and vegetarianism, even marking up a menu for me. Also offered me a free glass of champagne for my birthday!More infoAlden and HarlowPrice: Moderate• American• West Cambridge•4.5
