Food was good as always, server was a little slow for the amount of people i had but understandable, overall everybody was satisfied and enjoyed the food and drinks

A wide selection of menu items. Entrees were seasoned nicely and hot. The meat dishes were tender. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Convenient location and ample parking. When making reservations, the special request was honored. Recommend and will return.

The staff was very accommodating and kind. I was there with a friend, celebrating her birthday, in a torrential downpour which caused her to be quite late for our reservation due to traffic. They assured us that it was no problem. We enjoyed the Kumamoto oysters, which were very fresh and expertly prepared. We had the zucchini sticks, which were nice and crispy, and came with a bright and delicious dipping sauce. We also ordered the cheesy plate, and were pleasantly surprised by a lovely sweet French toast-like slice of bread along with the lovely selection of cheeses and honeycomb and marmalade. For our mains, we both chose the filet, and we were not disappointed. Very flavorful, and the mushroom risotto they came with was excellent. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Always order their delicious deviled eggs…superb! Had the Sunday Supper. Appetizer, main course and dessert for only $40. A delicious bargain! Bocanova is an Oakland treasure. We have fewer and fewer of such gleaming stars in our beleaguered city. Let’s be sure to support them!
