Best Restaurants for Foodies in Upper Kirby / Shepherd Corridor

Food and service are superb! The art throughout the restaurant is also worth noting. Can’t wait to come back soon!

We had a terrific dinner. There were some new items on the menu--boar bolognese, pork chop and a duck. All were innovative and delicious. Nice wine, lovely oysters, good pate app and great desserts. Even the kids shrimp pasta was far above average. Our server was attentive and helpful.

Our server, Maurice, was excellent. I appreciated the cadence with which he checked in on our table but, more importantly, his recommendations were outstanding. I do not think we would have ever considered the octopus but he was right by describing it as the best in the city. Otherwise, our table had a steak special, two different pizzas and the Vingole pasta. Besides the four cheese pizza not listing the hot honey on the menu, we all loved our meals, including the sweet panna cotta for my birthday.

Truly love this place. Second time here. Food is outstanding. Had the Angry Shrimp appetizer and the Short Rib Biryani entree. Friend had the chicken Marsala and said it was truly tasty and unique. Love that it’s paleo! Will return. Even with a 26-person group in front of me, the noise level was low and could enjoy my time there. Intimate ambiance. Good for date night or groups.

Le Jardinier fully deserves its new Michelin star. Our group of four had lunch after a museum visit. Everything from the ambience to the food to the service was spectacular. My squid ink shellfish ravioli was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted anywhere in the world, and our most carnivorous diner pronounced the Wagyu burger “the best piece of meat I’ve ever had.” Bravi to everyone at Le Jardinier!
