Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Chicago Lawn

Lulu was very knowledgeable and attentive. We loved her guidance throughout the meal and would absolutely request her again! The food was divine and the wine selection was vast. I haven’t been back since 2018 and am so glad we got to visit this trip! We will be back :)

Our server was excellent. He asked all the right questions to ensure our courses arrived at the right time. Very attentive and yet gave us space. The food was really tasty, fresh and cooked to perfection. Our wine and cocktails were excellent as well.

I cannot count the number of visits we've had to The Girl and the Goat, but it continues to be a favorite for both personal and professional dining. I brought three colleagues, who have never been, to the restaurant for dinner. One diner is vegetarian, but there are menu offerings and options available to provide them with enough to eat. All three were quite impressed with the food. My only complaint would be our table was right next to the kitchen, which can be loud. However, we made due, and had an enjoyable meal. Service is always very good, and the cocktails are fun. If you're interested in dining, make sure you book way ahead, as there is almost no chance to get a table day of.

I had a wonderful experience. I had the jerk Cornish hen with greens and yams. My friend had lobster Mac and cheese. We both thought food was good. All the staff were friendly and inviting. I would come back.

We’ve been hesitant to visit the Walnut Room due to food allergies but decided to give it a try. From the moment we sat down, Jesus, our waiter, was so attentive. He noticed our allergen card in the table and immediately addressed it, letting us know he find out anything we needed to know and would talk to the chef personally to see what our son could eat. We’ve always wanted to visit this beautiful restaurant but never did out of fear of allergies. But Jesus helped to make this experience amazing for our whole family. Thank you for taking the time to understand our allergies and walk us through the menu. It was a great start to the holiday season. We will be back again!
