The menu offered a dazzling array of options for each course and given the large selection, we were a bit concerned about their ability to deliver… we were extremely happy and quite frankly blown away by each course. The food was of the best quality, presented beautifully and tasted absolutely DELICIOUS. Our only disappointment was the water service - it seems so silly but we had to ask NUMEROUS times for water and wait and wait for our glasses to be refilled. This seems like a minor detail but a major annoyance that can be readily corrected. One other troubling detail that surprised us was the lack of toilet tissue in the Ladies Room- it appeared that no staff attended to the bathroom during our three hour meal. We raise these two points in support of The River Cafe’s commitment to excellence. A warm thanks to the Chef and their team for a wonderful meal and lovey dining experience.More infoThe River CafePrice: Very Expensive• American• DUMBO•4.9

The unassuming Casa is tucked away on a quiet street we might not have otherwise noticed, but you are greeted with warmth the moment you open the door. From the cozy lighting, to the gentleman making fresh pasta at the bar, to the friendly staff, it was Nona’s homey perfection from start to finish. Our server Cynthia offered great menu and wine guidance as we attempted to taste it all. The prices are very reasonable versus portion size. Octopus, Branzino, Gnocchi, and Osso Bucco Agnolotti were standouts. Can’t wait to be back!More infoPiccola Cucina CasaPrice: Expensive• Italian• Boerum Hill•4.9

Last night I was asked to leave before we finished our bottle of wine because they had reservations coming. It felt a little sad. Times have changed. Once upon a time it was cool. No longer. Don’t linger we have business to do. Turn em and burn em. Your food is still great and I love your olive oil. My olive oil will never ask me to leave the table before I’m finished. Neither would Nonna. Arrivaderci Frankies.More infoFrankies SpuntinoPrice: Moderate• Italian• Carroll Gardens•4.8

We ordered warm brownie (was not warm) and icecream and they gave us a comp creme brulee. We had a festive bottle of sparkling rose. (Christmas Eve splurge). We also ordered onion rings and brussel sprouts. Too much food, but why not celebrate!More infoTribeca GrillPrice: Expensive• American• TriBeCa•4.5
