Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Ongar

Just an overall lovely experience, staff were friendly and efficient, food was delicious with generous portions, it was clean and we didn’t wait long at all to be seated or served. Its a good idea to book as its a bustling restaurant and noise can be a little moderate (like a lively afternoon pub) but still very relaxing and chill atmosphere. Will be returning very soon. Highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant service was excellent food & we had to cocktails which where wonderful, we chose the prawn, beef and the vegetarian Tacos (party of 3) myself and daughter had the Salmon & Monkfish Udon Noodles in Teriyaki which was really nice & my partner had the wagyu burger which he said was amazing We will definitely go back

We came to Turkish kitchen as a group of 7 ladies to celebrate 2 birthdays. The food was excellent and large portions. Our waitress Filiz made the evening very special for us, she really looked after us, was super friendly and excellent at her job.

Lovely venue, although in the middle of no where in my opinion. Service was good as we had early booking. Starters was delicious, the venison kebab, the quails egg I would have preferred it to be a bit runnier in the middle when you cut into it. The sauce was great and good amount just right for the amount. The mix grill was a disappointment due to the small portion size, there was not enough flavour to this dish. The prawn purée was nice, please serve in a flat plate as it will be easier to eat than the round bowl we had it served in. Ambience was nice. Mains were ok the meat dish was not spicy enough as per details on the menu, the dhansak was lovely, the peshwari naan was yummy. The duck dish would be better to be cooked to one’s tastebud, I would have preferred this a little less cooked. Dessert- we didn’t enjoy in the way it was described on the menu, however the cake for the birthday was nice along with the other complimentary little pot we had. A lovely evening full of lovely food
