Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Bloor West Village

The food and drinks were outstanding! And the servers were extremely nice. I celebrated my birthday there and they made me feel super special… will repeat soon

I went to Aera ( in The Well ) with my sister who lives in BC and she wanted a rooftop with a good view. Aera is 38 stories and has an amazing view of downtown Toronto . We were at the Chef's counter and had a great views of the CN Tower. The host was great. She showed us two options for seating, where we were reserved and one more option. I had the mac and cheese which was delicious. They put mushroom and onion in it. And we each had a cocktail. I had the Amelia, I think it was called. It was tasty but quite small, that was the only thing. My sister's cocktail was a more reasonable size. The guys beside us had a cheeseburger and it looked so good! The service was great . They server was friendly and service was fairly quick . The restaurant is on the more pricey side and so are the drinks. But if you are looking for a great view of the city it's worth it. I definetly recommend and would go again.

This has been the best vegan restaurant in the city for us! Outstanding food, service, value, and energy always. Our only challenge this time was that they no longer have vegan + gluten-free options in their main course meals. We were mad for their gluten-free pizza, but unfortunately it's no longer available. And we just discovered their GF pasta has eggs, which is unusual in the GF world. They're working on a solution, which is amazing. They're really committed doing things authentically here, as well as in-house, so we understand the challenge for the chef. We'll certainly be back once there are options from the full menu for us again. I still highly recommend Bellona to anyone who doesn't have the food restrictions we do.

My experience at Prime left me wanting more. The hospitality that we were shown was over the top. The team at Prime are a well oiled machine. I was blown away by our server Daniel. He was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was spectacular. Special shout out to the lobster spaghetti! We had a last minute addition to our reservation and Prime was able to accommodate our party from 8 people to 9 by moving us into the private dining room, "The Cottage". This room was really neat. We were able to observe some of the food prep and behind the scenes camaraderie in the kitchen. Matty Matheson has created an absolute masterpiece at Prime. Thank you for hosting us.

From the moment we walked into the historic venue, the setting was perfect – beautifully decorated with gothic accents, flickering candles, and just the right amount of eerie vibes to get you in the Halloween spirit. You could feel the history of the building, which only added to the whole ghostly charm! The tea selection was fantastic, with a variety of flavors that catered to every taste, from classic Earl Grey to a Peaches and Cream blend. The food was where the experience truly shined – each tier of goodies was as delightful as it was spooky. The sandwiches and desserts were crafted with care, and the flavours were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Special shout-out to the scones, which were a wild ride for my tastebuds! Cheese and pumpkin?! Ube and white chocolate?! How do they come up with this? Every single bite was delicious and they even catered to my gluten free diet! The staff really got into the theme, too, adding a fun and playful element to the experience. They shared stories of the Old Mill's "haunted history," which was a great touch and made everything feel authentic. Overall, it was such a cool event that perfectly captured the spooky season while delivering an elevated, gourmet high tea experience. I’d highly recommend the Haunted High Tea to anyone looking for a unique, memorable way to celebrate Halloween or simply enjoy a fantastic tea service in a unique, historic setting. 👻🍂🫖
