This place is an amazing Italian hole in the wall in West Town that offers delicious food at a great price. It’s cozy environment is perfect for a date night or a fun but filling get together!

I absolutely loved my first visit to Summer House - Chicago. I took my client out to lunch and wanted to experience something different and found Summer House on IG. I booked a Valentine’s reservation over a month in advance, it was easy to book. Unfortunately it snowed moderately the day of the reservation and since I was driving from Indiana. It took a LOT longer to get there than expected. I called Fioretta, they said it was okay, that they would be able to make it work. Mind you, I got there an hour late. They still honored my reservation. The service was great and the food came out promptly. Meatballs lacked seasoning, shrimp scampi was 100/10. Crab bisque and burrata with peppers were both mid. 24oz ribeye was looked perfectly however it was too salty. They even brought extra seasoning that they used on the ribeye so we can add as we please. But there was no need as the salt overpowered everything. The marscapone whipped potatoes were also 100/10. Olive oil cake with gelato was 100/10, my server recommended it and recommended a bite with a little gelato and a piece of the cake, it was delicious. Tiramisu was mid. The cocktails all had good flavors but they lacked layers. They were for the most part all 1 note. So overall, get the shrimp scampi and the whipped potatoes forsure. I also think they can bring the $$$$$ down a notch- it doesnt match the mid quality of the food.

Our experience at Mano A Mano was fantastic! We went right as they opened on a weeknight and it felt so intimate. I was really smitten with the dim lighting and all of the furnishings--really beautiful space. Our server was sweet and had a very contagious energy, and everyone we spoke to was amicable and warm! The happy hour deal is the value play, for sure--the pizza you get when you order a bottle of wine is the best in the area (and there's TONS of great pizza a stone's throw away). It's chewy without being tough, the salt level of the cheeses was perfect, and the crust was perfectly crispy on the bottom. We also ordered two entrees and while everything tasted AMAZING (the bone marrow and short rib agnolotti were unique and perfectly al dente), we're big eaters, so we felt like the portions were a little small for entree prices. We were grateful that we'd eaten the pizza before our entrees! The tiramisu was fluffy and creamy, and the gelato we sampled for our birthday treat was delicious and custardy. The meal was very leisurely paced (in a good way) where I never felt rushed with too many plates on the table. We didn't have a single bad bite of food here, and we'll come back to take advantage of that happy hour deal again. Thanks for a memorable experience!
