A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received numerous accolades during our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few. Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats. A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado. Visited for Thanksgiving, they had a special menu designed for the holiday. Everything was very good and service was great. The menu was an interesting take on traditional turkey dinner and was very tasty. The grilled filet mignon was really done nicely and the sauce was very good. The Gruyère scalloped potatoes were a surprise with a spicy kick. The crunchy pumpkin desert was a pleasant way to end the meal. Enjoyed Roy’s Hawaiian Martini which was like a low calorie pina colada but that soaked pineapple sliced had a kick! And the Argentinian Malbec was very smooth and a nice addition for dinner. Our server, Oscar, was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant’s history. And a beautiful view of the San Diego bay at sunset.

I was with friends celebrating 2 birthdays -- our dinners and service were excellent, although the prices are somewhat expensive and everything is a la carte which can rapidly increase one's bill. However, it was a special event and well worth the splurge. I think our server was Jennifer or Jenny, and she was terrific as were the other wait staff. It was nice that my friends whose birthdays we were celebrating, were each able to select a complimentary dessert for their special day, vs. given a specific dessert for the celebration which is what many restaurants do.
