- CChristinaWashington, D.C. Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMy husband and I decided to celebrate Thanksgiving at The Smith, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The prix fixe menu was fantastic, and our server, Jaiho, made the night truly memorable with her enthusiasm and friendliness. We started with the kale salad and butternut squash soup. The kale salad was delicious, and I would happily eat it any day. The butternut squash soup had great flavors, though it was a bit thinner than we expected. For our main courses, we opted for the turkey pot pie and short ribs. The pre fixe menu included sides for the table, which were all super tasty but very filling! We couldn't resist the apple toffee bread pudding and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. They were both so tempting that we had to have at least one bite before asking for a box to bring them home. Overall, the Thanksgiving pre fixe meal was generous and tasty. The Smith's atmosphere and Jaiho's excellent service made our holiday celebration truly special. We'll definitely return, whether for another holiday or a casual meal!More infoThe Smith – Penn Quarter, Washington, D.CPrice: Expensive• American• Penn Quarter•4.5
- DDavidvipToronto / Ontario •31 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoEnjoyed our first visit and we’d like to go again someday. We concentrated on sausages this time and want to do schnitzel the next time. The sausages with red cabbage and “German mac and cheese” worked for us, though in hindsight might have substituted potatoes, and could have used a lot more mustard from the get go instead of needing to ask for it. Definitely would order more potato pancakes. House beer was excellent accompaniment.More infoCafe BerlinPrice: Moderate• German• Capitol Hill•4.7

Extremely well prepared and beautifully presented, the tapas dishes were fresh and provided exotic flavor combos. The dishes tend to be fairly heavy despite the small plate size because many of the dishes are fried and my only wish is that there were more variety of veggies available.More infoCranesPrice: Expensive• Spanish• Penn Quarter•4.8
