Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Gateway Island

The River Deck Cafe is our regular stop when we drive between Melbourne and Canberra or Melbourne and Sydney. The location is amazing, set in the park overlooking the Murray River, so we can stretch our legs and the dog can run around. The food standard here is very high, much higher than one would expect in a small regional location. They take great pride in using fresh local ingredients and the supplies are proudly listed in the menu. Very happy to continue to have this as our regular stop and I always recommend it to fellow foodies.

Great place, staff were very friendly and helpful. Hot wings were fantastic ( big serving ), great pizza’s, all our other meals were very good too. Highly recommend a visit, also the local beer’s are great have to grab a few extras to take home.

We went to La Maison for Christmas work lunch. Food was divine as per usual. Everyone very happy with their meals. Highly recommend.

Food was very nice, just found towards the end of the evening the service became quite slow and this is why we did not order desert or extra drinks.

We had a great meal with perfect wine Pleasant staff we sat outside with our dog Really great day
