Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Olympia

Three of us came for lunch on a Friday. I had made a reservation and requested a window seat. It was a high tide, misty day. We were able to watch grebes and mergansers feeding. The food was excellent, with attentive service. My sister-in-law visiting from Montana was impressed.

Superb, as usual. The carrot sformato was an unusual find and quite delicious. The addition of olives to the blood orange and fennel salad hit just the right acid note, Mama’s meatballs were pure beef with a strong dash of anise seed, and the accompanying marinara had been simmering for ages to pick up that deep complexity of flavors and great balance between sweet and slightly acid.

Restaurant was packed Christmas Eve. Our waiter, Kody, although incredibly busy, managed to make us feel he was paying attention. He was professional and friendly- and the food was very good.

Salty's exceeded our expectations. We have lived in Seattle for over 20 years and never had dinner at Salty's. We didn't know whether or not to trust the reviews. We absolutely loved our dinner and evening. The staff all the way from the hostess to the kitchen staff to the servers were extremely welcoming, nice and professional. The atmosphere is really special with dim lights, beautiful holiday decorations and a stunning view of the Seattle Downtown. The food was also fantastic. Salty's has an old school, classy vibe which was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a joint birthday and holiday family meal.

Always a warm, welcoming space to share some delicious food and a great cocktail, or two! It is our go to place when we want to feel comfortable, yet still a bit spoiled. Tom at the bar is a fun bartender who crafts cocktails with care. Simply a great ambiance, even on cold, dark, winter nights!
