Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Newtown

Three of us shared a special reunion dinner. The initial hosts were quite polished, yet I felt my guest's attire and my signature (SF Asian Art museum) baseball cap was a possible issue, so I was not surprised when we were sized up and sat in the back/vault. The back was GREAT. More privacy and tons more quiet than the front. The final server we had was THE BEST. He helped us with the menu quickly and seamlessly (he really knew his stuff.) His friendliness was NATURAL, not forced. We were not rushed. Plus he was the perfect balance between professional and friendly. Formal dining etiquette (re clearing and food delivery) were all present and perfect. Yes, this was rather pricy, but I will definitely return, esp for a special occasion. And our server deserved his 30% tip, even if provided by a guy in a baseball cap with casually-dressed guests. ; )

Had a party of 7 that was seated upstairs in the middle room. Service was slow at the start due to 3 other tables in the next room getting their food as we were seated. We hadn’t even ordered apps 30 minutes after our reservation. But once those tables were served, we were able to order and the service picked up. Stars of the show were the mussels, flat bread, tomato dill soup, filet with king crab, scallops, short ribs and the bread pudding. I would pass on the Cajun Cream pasta.

The ambiance is beautiful, the service was very good. We will be back.

Terence our server was patient and on top if everything. We came for happy hour. Great selection and prices. Dry rubbed wings really good. Reuben excellent. Highly recommend checking out the happy hour. Thursday half price bourbon. Great entertainment too during the holidays.

It was a great experience. Our waiter was a tentative and friendly. The staff was very polite and I will be back soon.
