Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous Fried Chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

You can’t go wrong with selecting this place, chicken and waffles amazing. Biscuits and gravy fantastic huevos rancheros are awesome. Excellent service, friendly surroundings whether you’re just with family or a big group they’ve got it handled. Keep up the good work screen door crew. You can’t beat not only a good kitchen, but then it’s handled by a wonderful staff, i’ve worked in a restaurant and not all function like a well oil machine as these guys do, starts at the top and flows through👏👏👏

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Clarklewis. Classic Northwest Fresh cuisine worthy of a birthday, anniversary or other celebration. We had beet salad, root salad, pizza and pasta and all were top notch. The holiday decor of Noble firs and white lights was simple and stunning. We will return.

We loved the tapa style menu and the drinks were amazing! The LeChon Margarita was the table fav! The elote, the pequito empanadas and the scallops with polenta were our favs. Next time we wa to sit at the kitchen bar, and we lived the jellyfish aquarium behind the bar. We went for dinner but this would be a great place to meet up for HH too!!
