Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. Having been to the restaurant a good few times, we recommended it to some family members. We had a nice evening although unfortunately it did not live up to previous standards and our gushing reviews. We had heard that the management had changed and maybe this is the reason. The food was good but a couple of the main dishes were overpriced, in particular the skate wing which was so incredibly thin, the fish was practically transparent. Will need to study reviews before we venture back. Such a shame as I was a definite 5 star from us previously!
