We’re Sarah and Dan, the new owners of The Stag Inn, Low Crosby, and we couldn’t be more excited to breathe new life into this charming, historic pub. After viewing The Stag Inn, we immediately fell in love with the character of the building and knew it needed someone to give it heart and soul again. We have big plans for the future of the business, and we’re excited to share them with the wonderful local community. Whether you're popping in for a pint, a meal, or just a chat, we can’t wait to welcome you to The Stag Inn!

The Greenhead Hotel was taken over in June 2020 by local proprietor Jordan Dodwell & his partner Anna Pearson. After a complete refurb they opened the doors on the 14th August 2020.Head Chef, Dan, & his young, eager team use the finest ingredients available using local butchers, suppliers and even forage in the nearby woodland. During the shooting season we source game from the local shoot which features on our specials board.Situated on the Northumberland and Cumbrian border, with Hadrian's wall on our doorstep, the hotel offers a cosy drinking area with locally sourced ale, a chic restaurant serving homemade classic pub food with a modern twist and 7 newly refurbished dog friendly en-suite guest bedrooms, alongside a 45 bed Hostel, providing the perfect base for your trip.

As always - excellent venue. Front of house team to be commended - Charlotte especially personable and chatty (even contacted us to make sure we were okay when we hadn't returned from our frozen walk!!) Food beautifully cooked and presented - again as always. Highly recommended. Many many thanks to all concerned.

Outstanding food and service once again. We prepared ourselves with empty stomachs this time so we were able to eat more. Food is simply amazing we had the Roast Beef and the cod. Everything is cooked to absolute perfection. Sides of kale, cauliflower cheese and carrots and parsnips were delicious. We managed a sticky toffee pudding which was wow , cinder toffee shards on the top being an amazing touch. Staff so friendly and nothing a problem. Pub is just beautiful after Dan and Sarah have taken over. So lucky and glad this is our local.

Last minute booking as passing by but very glad we did. The food was amazing value for money at such high quality. Simple menu but presented wonderfully. I have had afternoon tea there previously which was equally exceptional but pleased to say the rest of menu just as good. Can’t wait to return next time in Cumbria : )
