Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Perfect destination - met friends for a Christmas get together. Started with a few drinks at the bar before seating at our table in the original pub area by a lovely open fire. Very congenial service. We weren't the easiest group to deal with but the person who took our order handled us with utter professionalism and good humour. It made for a memorable afternoon . We will be back. ps slow roast leg of lamb for two is sensational. A must for any meat eater.

Enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at The Holt, afternoon tea was lovely, nice atmosphere and decorated with Christmas tress and a lovely fire. Nice to have warm scones as some places do not do this, and nice sandwiches and cakes. We needed to do a last minute change with the sandwich's from their menu, and the were very obliging to do so.

All staff extremely happy, friendly and attentive. Felt that the food could have been a bit hotter. Must admit that the roast beef was quite tough.

We’ve been dining for 3 nights at the Holt hotel and every time it was delicious and the service 10 out 10, a bit expensive but everything is I guess these days. Highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel! 🥰
