Outstanding food and service. The knowledge of staff is very impressive

Food was good although could have been hotter... (Rice was almost cold when it arrived). Service was good although a little overbearing as it was quite quiet in there so the waiters seemed to be at the table every few minutes when we hadn't even had a chance to open our menus or think about dessert. Having said that, it's better than being ignored so not a huge problem. I'd eat here again.

All staff extremely happy, friendly and attentive. Felt that the food could have been a bit hotter. Must admit that the roast beef was quite tough.

Beautiful setting - afternoon tea in front if an open fire. Staff were extremely courteous and attentive. The free chocolates for the birthday guest was a lovely touch! And there was unlimited tea. The standard scones were deliscious and the clotted cream to die for. Disappointing the jam was in jars not a dish, there was no butter and the birthday girl's gluten free scone was more like a biscuit than a scone - too thin and shattered when split. The cakes were OK but nothing special - carrot cake and chocolate brownies pretty basic, and for £85 for three I was expecting something a bit more special - maybe at least one cream cake. The gf sandwiches were too dry to eat. Overall a lovely afternoon sipping tea in front of the fire, but turned out to be not the best birthday treat for someone who's gluten free.

We’ve been dining for 3 nights at the Holt hotel and every time it was delicious and the service 10 out 10, a bit expensive but everything is I guess these days. Highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel! 🥰
