Best Restaurants with a Happy Hour in Makawao

We made reservations for 5:30…sunset was about 15 minutes later. It was busy as location is perfect for sunset viewing. When we checked in, we were to be seated right away but hostess suggested we wait while a table was cleaned as it had a primo front seating. We did and it was stunning. The waitress, Tiana was fabulous and friendly. The food was delicious. We plan on returning again before we leave Maui.

One of our fave spots over the years .. very accommodating for special diet requests (GF) & the food was outstanding!! Coconut shrimp & the hula pie are a must .. Magical sunsets that never disappoint & a great guitarist to entertain .. Mahalo for another wonderful Maui memory!

From the wide array of tropical drinks, made with their own smooth brand of gluten free vodka, as well as other spirits, to delectable appetizers and main offerings, loved by both carnivores and herbivores alike, as well as delicious gluten free pizza, there’s something to tickle the taste buds of just about everyone. Most evenings offer talented local musicians to add to the ambience. Reservations aren’t necessary, but are recommended.

Wonderful old building with a delicious menu and nice beverages on offer. Our waiter, Joe, was exceptional as were the rest of the staff. Well worth it and a perfect spot to eat prior to our red-eye flight back to North America!

Loves every minute of our visit to MonkeyPod. Seated immediately on the side patio. Jess greeted us and brought us 3 Mai tais and a whiskey sour - delicious! Then we shared a Gem Salad and a Brocli Salad - both delicious but the Brocli was so unique we all agreed it was the best. Fish Tacos, Fish and Chops and Macademia Nut encrusted Mahi Mahi we all excellent but my Rib Eye was over the top. Cooked to perfection. We had a bottle of Tempranillo which paired well with everything and topped it all off with Banana Cream pie. Would recommend the entire meal all over again. Jess was an excellent waitress!
