We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.*Last seating 1 hour before close*

2 licks has a great look about it. A great place. Our Server was fantastic, drinks were good and brought quickly. We had 2 appetizers: salomon chips that were off the hook good (I almost ordered a second round of them and ate them as my meal). Fried cauliflower that my wife and I almost got in a fork war over. So good. For diner my wife had a salad that she liked and I had beef cheeks. (The couple sitting next to us had the same I noticed….so it must be a fan favorite) It was really good. I only ate about 1/3 of my main course becuase we wanted to try a desert. We got the waffle with apples, bourbon maple syrup and ice cream. It was sooo good. We ordered way too much food but it was all really good. Our Waiter Carlos was off the hook good. He actually “high fived” me for the desert order which was funny and shook my hand when we left and thanked us for letting him serve us. We discussed going back next time, only ordering the chips and cauliflower and trying another desert. (We were way too full). Will go back for sure.

Marco was a super waiter! Polite, knowledgeable and witty! The food was delicious as usual! We had the fritto misto app followed by Pollo alla Diavola, the most tender and beautifully crusted Cornish hen and the cappelletti spinaci with sage butter sauce. We were seated next to a charming couple and enjoyed nice conversation after dinner. We definitely need to dine here more often. Thank you!
